The bamboo structures put up by evacuees at the Vicente de Lara Park at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol were demolished today.

It can be recalled that the evacuees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) have been living in makeshift tents for over a year now demanding for the pullout of the military in their locality in Camansi, Lagonglong town. Accordingly, they will only return if there’s no more military in their area. The group started constructing bamboo structures yesterday which constitute as permanent structures and illegal prompting the Provincial Legal Office to confront them. The said info was referred to the City Building Official who ordered the barangay captain in the ares to implement the demolition order. Read the message below.
