With PAG-ASA’s announcement of the start of the rainy season, expect low-lying and flood-prone areas in Cagayan de Oro City to experience the same inconvenience of flooding. And of all of these areas, one flood-prone site is the Kagay-an Bridge which links Nazareth and Carmen and motorists often jokingly say it’s the only bridge where water flows over it.
When it rains hard, a 30-meter section of the bridge approach at the Carmen side gets flooded as rainwater builds-up due to clogged drain outlets. Motorists especially those small and gasoline-fueled vehicles will have to slow down as they negotiate the bridge.
