Beyond Numbers, a PRC-accredited CPD provider, started its maiden event in February 2019. Based in Cagayan de Oro City, it is determined to redefine what continuing professional development should be: world class, practical, yet affordable.
Whether you are a recent board passer eager to nail your first job, a competitive employee determined to step up your career game, a practitioner who wants only the best and current tools to serve his clients, or an experienced professional about to step into a different industry or the global market, Beyond Numbers got you covered. It provides professional development and career training solutions to CPAs and the general public.
Why Beyond Numbers?
“Now, more than ever, CPAs need to continuously upgrade their skillsets to bridge the gap between expected and acquired professional skills and adapt to a very dynamic global environment. The expectations from the profession keep on increasing to match economic and technological changes. The CPA has to go beyond his conventional role. He is now seen as provider of wholistic business solutions. If an accountant cannot go beyond numbers, he will be left behind in this competitive market, local or global, it may be. Worse, AI already looms to take his place, if all he does is numbers.”, says Michelle Yee Nayve, owner and course director. She was an honor graduate of Xavier University and a recipient of the PriceWaterhouse Award for Excellence in Accounting and Philippine Association of Colleges and Schools of Business (PACSB) and Outstanding Graduate Awards for ranking first in the College of Commerce and second in the university.
What makes BN different from other CPD providers?
World-class. Nayve has more than 20 years of extensive work experience here and abroad. Aside from being a CPA in the country, she also holds 2 accounting designations in Canada. She commits to empowering her clients with the same best practices she and her invited resource speakers use at work.
Practical. “Our courses are designed not only to equip our participants with a strong theoretical foundation. We go a step further by teaching them practical applications of the topics which they can readily use when they go back to work.”, adds Nayve.
Affordable. One of the main concerns regarding compliance with CPD Law is that it is disruptive and expensive. With Beyond Numbers next door, Kagay-anons will no longer worry about costly airfares, accommodations, and unpaid leaves of absence. Its seminars are held on Saturdays and fees are reasonably priced.
What are your upcoming events?
“We are excited to introduce the first of 3 modules of our Primavera 6 Course on July 27, 2019. Engineers, accountants, and anyone into project management can benefit a lot mastering this software. Our instructor works for Jacobs Engineering and is currently responsible for the $30-billion Rapid Transit Infrastructure Projects in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas of Ontario, Canada.”
“In August, we will conduct a seminar on Tax Amnesty for Estate Tax and Delinquencies, a must for tax practitioners and business owners. CPAs attending this event will earn 8 hours of CPD credits for Taxation.”
“A hit among millennials, Islamic Accounting will be offered on September 7, 2019. Islamic finance, as an alternative to conventional finance, has an estimated annual growth of 20% with market valued at over USD 1 trillion. No wonder why the need for accountants with expertise in this industry is higher than ever. Anyone interested in becoming an ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant will have a head start with this course under his belt. We will announce more topics on Facebook as we go along.”
Any closing statement?
“I am a very competitive person. Nothing satisfies me more than helping my countrymen successfully compete globally.”
