The management of Radio Mindanao Network (RMN) DXCC has reportedly fired Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Zaldy Ocon after a spat with 90-year old former city mayor Reuben Canoy at the lobby of VIP Hotel.
Based on an article at Gold Star Daily News, Canoy was on a wheelchair and asked Ocon, who was the station’s program director, why he cancelled his 10-minute program “Perspective” but Ocon berated the aging Canoy instead. The news first came out in Facebook thru a post by Canoy’s eldest daughter Rhona. Reuben was one of the founders of RMN when it was established in 1952.
Info gathered also revealed the station was having an extensive coverage of an arrest of a municipal councilor in Tagoloan. Read more details in news article below.
