Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno has ordered all Philippine Flags in the city to be flown half-mast at the police headquarters, all police stations and in all offices of the City Government in honor on the passing of Lt. Col. Nelson Aganon, who was City Director for nearly two years.
Read the directive below which was sent to City Administrator Teddy Sabuga-a as shared in Facebook by City Information Officer Maricel Casino-Rivera:
“On the flying of the Philippine Flag in the City, resulting from the untimely and tragic death of Col Nelson Aganon, herein below are my instructions:
1. As the City mourns on the passing of Col Aganon, and to manifest our deepest condolences and sympathies to Col Aganon’s family and relatives, as well as to the entire CDO Police Force that he has left behind, I order that the Philippine Flag be flown at half-mast in the Headquarters and in all Police Stations of the CDO Police Force;
2. In alll offices of the City Government, the Philippine Flag be also flown at half-mast for the same reason; and
3. The foregoing shall be observed until June 11, 2019 or upon interment of the remains of Col Aganon in Nuev Ecija, whichever comes first.
In this regard kindly write a letter to the National Historical Institute, advising them of our initiative.
Meanwhile, Col. Aganon’s wake is at Cosmopolitan Homes along Capistrano Street before his remains will be flown to his home province of Nueva Ecija.
