Validators from the National Museum recently visited the archaeological sites in Alubijid town in Misamis Oriental.
One of the heritage sites in the municipality is the Spanish Kiln (Horno) which was built during the 18th century. Heritage conservators state the kiln is very significant because it is the only one in Northern Mindanao that was built during the Spanish period that survived the onslaught of time.
Shown below are the validators together with local town officials led by Municipal Mayor Alvin Labis (3rd from right). The kiln is right behind them.
Some facts about the kiln are posted onsite.
Meanwhile, the second archaeological site is the Calumat Open Site which was recently discovered.
These sites could be tourism potential for both the municipality and the province.
