It’s now confirmed. President Rodrigo Duterte has declared June 5, 2019 as a non-working holiday for the observance of Eid’l Fitr or the culmination of the Fasting of Ramadan. This was confirmed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Here’s a copy of Proclamation No. 729.
Eid’l Fitr is a national holiday by virtue of Republic Act 9177 of 2002, but the date is not fixed as the Muslim calendar is based on the different phases of the moon. June 5 was the date as recommended by the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos.
