Way back in the 1960s, school buses where a rare sight in Cagayan de Oro City. This private mode of transport was usually used in sectarian schools one of which is Lourdes College which was managed by the Religious of the Virgin Mary (RVM) sisters.
This old photo below is believed to be the institution’s first school bus. The bus is shown most likely along Capistrano Street beside the main gate (partly covered on the left side). A local tartanilla (horse-drawn carriage) can also be seen at right.
Lourdes College was an all-girls school during that time.
