Twenty-year old Bonjour Adaza, Jr. became the first ever Mister of Filipinas – Misamis Oriental. The student from Liceo de Cagayan University beat 13 other dapper, fit, and young gentlemen for the prestigious title during the pageant night held at Limketkai Luxe Hotel.
The most awaited part of the pageant, the Q&A came in quickly after equally exciting segments ranging from Kuyamis street wear, swimwear, to casual to Barong Tagalog. The big question was “If you were given the chance to talk to the Philippine President, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, what would you tell him and why?” Mr. Adaza’s answer verbatim, “If I’m going to talk to President Rodrigo Duterte, I would rather talk to him about drugs so that I can help our people. As a student with limited resources, however I have 7,000 plus followers on Facebook, 2000 plus followers on Instagram and 30,000 plus followers on Tik-Tok and I will take this as an opportunity to influence them not to engage in drugs because it will lead them to a negative and it will destroy their future. And since I am a gym enthusiast I will encourage them to keep themselves busy such as going to the gym or some recreational sports and also I will expose them to environmental advocacy to pursue my advocacy such a s participating in cleaning up drive, tree planting or tree growing to protect our Mother Earth. And also I wanna say that we only have one planet. We only got one chance. Our Mother Earth needs our help. Let’s do something, anything. That would be all thank you.”
