Cagayan de Oro City will be conducting a dry run of its NO SEGREGATION, NO COLLECTION policy starting next month.
During the month-long dry run, garbage collectors will not collect unsegregated garbage from residents and establishments located within the Poblacion area (Barangays 1-40).
Accordingly, this is based on Article IV, Section 6, 7 and Article VI, section 17 of City Ordinance 13378-2018 or Integrated Ecological Solid Waste Management Ordinance.
Said ordinance also requires garbage bins to be placed outside the premises during the scheduled collection hours. Biodegradable wastes will be collected by IPM (waste collection contractor) from 6:00AM to 12:00NN while Non-biodegradable wastes will be collected from 6:00PM to 12:00 midnight. Further, receptacles containing biodegradable wastes must have cover and should not be placed inside plastic cellophane or trash bags.
Strict implementation starts July 1.
