A licensed criminologist from Cagayan de Oro College (COC-Phinma) recently died while undergoing summer training at the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) in Silang, Cavite after reportedly suffering from heatstroke.
Based on a report from the Philippine News Agency (LINK), 21-year old Al-Rasheed Macadato collapsed while doing a road run Tuesday afternoon (May 14). He was rushed to the PNPA Medical Dispensary before he was transferred to the Qualimed Hospital in Sta. Rosa, Laguna where he expired early Wednesday. PNPA officials state the cause of death was heatstroke.
Information gathered also revealed that Cadet 4th Class Macadato was native of Kalilangan, Bukidnon, a BS Criminology graduate of COC-Phinma and passed the Criminologist Licensure Examination last December 2018 where he ranked 2nd among passers at the Regional Level. He is shown below receiving the special award during the oath taking ceremonies held early this year at The Atrium of Limketkai Center.
Macadato was among 285 cadets who were formally accepted at the PNPA on May 1. Meanwhile, PNPA officials assured the victim’s family of due assistance and conduct of a thorough investigation on the incident.
