The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) – Claveria Campus has moved to reset the start of its classes to August 2019. However, this is still to be approved by the University Board of Regents.
As posted in its official Facebook page, USTP-Claveria’s move was aimed to synchronize the Academic Year (AY) to Fiscal Year 2019 as encouraged by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) per CHED Memo. 05, series of 2019 issued on April 5, 2019. The move was raised during the USTP Claveria Joint Academic and Administrative Committee Meeting held yesterday, May 6, 2019. Once approved by the Board of Regents, classes at USTP-Claveria will formally start in August.
Accordingly, members of the committee considered it to be much more favorable to immersion, OJT programs and other internationalization initiatives of the University. Read the post below.
