Northern Mindanao’s new swimming sensation Nimrod Montera took home his 4th gold medal while its vaunted boxing team won 4 gold medals in a productive penultimate day of the 2019 Palarong Pambansa in Davao City.

Montero bagged the gold medal in today’s 50m freestyle event in elementary boys with a time of 27.53 seconds to sweep all sprints in the pool. It was his 4th gold medal in the games. He earlier won the gold in the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle and the 200m freestyle relay with Anton Rafaele Malayang, Jafar Dipatuan and Jicefen Dichos.

Meanwhile, light flyweight Aaron Jude Bado, light bantamweight Sunrise Seronay, light flyweight Mark Lester Durens and flyweight John Erl Palivino won golds in boxing.

With their win, Northern Mindanao’s gold total now at 16 golds.
