Incumbent Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno got a huge lead over Jose Gabriel “Pompee” La Vina in an independent survey conducted by the Xavier University through its Kinaadman University Research Office (XU-KURO).
In a press conference held today, the survey conducted among 800 registered voters during the period April 4-11, 2019 showed Moreno preferred by 61.5% of respondents. La Vina was at second with 16.0%. The margin of error is at ±3.4 percentage points with 95% confidence level. See below.
In the Vice Mayoralty race, incumbent Raineir Joaquin “Kikang” Uy leading with 55% while former City Mayor Vicente “Dongkoy” Emano got 23.6%. The margin of error is at ±3.4 percentage points with 95% confidence level.
Meanwhile, incumbent 1st District Representative Rolando “Klarex” Uy had a voter preference of 66.1% followed by former City Councilor Caesar Ian Acenas at 16.4% and Gil Banaag (1.9%). The margin of error is at ±4.7 percentage points with 95% confidence level.
For the 2nd District, Rufus Rodriguez leads with 59.2% with Yan Lam “Alam” Lim in second place with 19.4%. The margin of error is at ±4.7 percentage points with 95% confidence level.
Meanwhile, PDP Laban bets dominated the City Council in both District 1 and District 2. Those ranked are arranged alphabetically.

Xavier Ateneo’s KURO survey also asked respondents to identify major barangay-level issues in Cagayan de Oro City.
Below are the major issues ranked 1 to 3 in each barangay.
As in all past poll surveys by KURO, said research was fully funded by Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan.
A second survey will be conducted by KURO closer to the election date, with an expected release date on the first week of May.
