Students from Cagayan de Oro-based schools won several medals in the just concluded Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad 2019 held April 5-8, 2019 in Phuket, Thailand.
City Central School’s Jadon Kedrick G. Domo and Zyrhene D. Hinosolango, Shadi Kent G. AL Hamoud of Corpus Christi School, Denn Ethan Josh Castro and Samantha Kaye Asuncion of St. Mary’s School, Imran Jibril A. Panolong and Ethan Bryan See of Oro Christian Grace School, all won gold medals in their respective categories. Samantha Kaye Asuncion also received a Special Award for finishing 1st Runner-Up in Primary 2.
Leonaidaz Maersk Manzano and Kristina Isabela C. Sur, both of City Central School, and Rafael Ethan Joseph M. Abas of St. Mary’s School took home silver medals. Meanwhile, Raja Fareez A. Panolong of Oro Christian Grace School, Karlo Francisco C. Sur of City Central School and Corpus Christi’s Precious Anne N. Gomez each won a bronze medal. Rudy Anthony Vilanueva of Oro Christian Grace School and Phinma-Cagayan de Oro College’s Shera Theresse Tancawan and Rash Gabriel H. Tancawan, and Mil Gerard H. Tancawan of Xavier University Junior High School all received merit awards at yesterday’s conclusion of the event which drew thousands of contestants from several Asian countries.
