The first and only Oolong Tea Processing Center in the country is set to rise soon in Gingoog City. This after Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano and Gingoog City Mayor Marie Guingona led the groundbreaking ceremony of the P3.5 million facility last Wednesday, March 27, 2019 in Barangay Kalagonoy, Gingoog City.
Shown below are photos during the groundbreaking and the visit to the Oolong nursery which will benefit the tea growers and lumads in the area for their livelihood.
Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea made from the partially oxidized leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Accordingly, in addition to caffeine, oolong tea contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids and beneficial tea polyphenol antioxidants which are responsible for its health benefits (SOURCE).
