A portion of Limketkai Avenue in Cagayan de Oro City is now closed to traffic as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH-10) starts construction of the 6-lane Bitan-ag Bridge beside McDonald’s.
As shown below, the closure covers the whole stretch from near Limketkai Luxe Hotel towards McDonald’s. The P 32.58 million project involves the construction of the bridge and its approaches. The bridge will replace the old existing box culvert onsite. Heavy equipment is also observed onsite. This is just the first phase as the second phase covers the other lanes.
The project is among several ongoing big-ticket drainage projects aimed at addressing the flooding problem brought about by the overflowing of Bitan-ag Creek. Two more bridges traversing the said creek are already under construction along Gaabucayan Street and along Valenzuela Avenue (near Coastal Road).
