A motorela driver in Cagayan de Oro City has returned a bag to the rightful owner who lost it while in transit Monday night after basketball practice.
For Ojee Lumba (left), motorela driver Demitryo Cruda (right) is a rare breed of honest motorela drivers.
Netizen Oj Fast (Ojee A. Lumba) said he just finished basketball team practice at Macasandig covered court when he drove his motorbike and dropped off his coach at Botoy’s at the back of Lourdes College. He then returned to Macasandig to fetch a teammate who informed him he’s waiting at Sports Zone (Tomas Saco Street). It was when going to Sports Zone that he noticed his shoe bag which contained shoes, wallet and jersey already missing. He sought help from his teammate as they combed the streets hoping to find his bag to no avail. So Ojee took to Facebook for help (see his posts below).
Ojee sought divine intervention to touch the heart of whoever found his bag. Fortunately, at around 5:00AM early today, he got a call from his mother who is in Iloilo informing him that someone found his bag. The motorela driver apparently dialed the number of his mother which Ojee indicated in his ID in his wallet – “to contact in case of emergency”.
To cut the story short, they communicated and Ojee got his belongings back intact including the money in his wallet. In his Facebook post, he lauded motorela driver Demitryo Cruda for his honesty. He tried to give him money but he refused.
