Do you know what happens at the Bulua Fish Landing Area in Cagayan de Oro City? Just before sunrise, several trucks carrying fresh fish and other seafood coming from as far as Zamboanga and General Santos arrive at the site and early risers gather to buy fish loaded into large ice boxes at low prices.
Most buyers own restaurants or eateries and middlemen where they can bargain for the least cost for the freshest catch while others simply couldn’t resist the low price of fish at the site.
Everyone knows the price will increase once the fish products go to the public markets. As the hour progresses, the sun rises and most of the fish are already sold or now at the public markets.
