Crowd-favorite and hometown boy Jio Jalalon scored 19 points including three triples in the final quarter as the Magnolia Hotshots Pambansang Manok beat the Meralco Bolts in a tight game, 92-86, at the Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro City.

It was a close game right from the start with several lead changes up until Jalalon scored 8 in an 11-0 run to tow Magnolia to an 89-82 lead. Meralco which led after three quarters was limited to just 13 points in the final period including several misses in the last 2 minutes which could have made the game closer. Jalalon who also grabbed 9 rebounds and issued 4 assists was named Best Player of the Game. It was his first official PBA game in his hometown since turning pro. Jalalon played high school ball at Sacred Heart of Jesus Montessori School.

Magnolia now notched its 1st win in the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup while Meralco fell to 2-5. Watch some highlights below.
