With the campaign period now heating up, the Department of Public Works and Highways in Region 10 has so far removed more than 1,000 campaign materials all over the region which have encroached into road-right-of-way (RROW) thereby obstructing official road signage.

Accordingly, Department Order No. 73 series of 2014 directs all Regional and District Offices to give signage owners 15 days to dismantle their installed materials or have it removed by DPWH personnel. Shown below are a few photos of DPWH Operation Baklas, an ongoing program in coordination with COMELEC and other line agencies to appropriately determine the specific areas where campaign materials and political ads should only be posted.
