Planning to go to the U.S. for work or do you have relatives already processing their working visas? The U.S. government has just imposed a one-year ban on the issuance of work visas to Filipinos due to “severe overstaying” and “human trafficking” concerns.
Accordingly, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Department of State (DOS) delisted the Philippines from countries eligible to participate in the H-2A (agricultural) and H-2B (non-agricultural) programs. The ban took effect last January 18 and ends January 19, 2020.
