Several container vans of illegally exported wastes were loaded to M/V Kalliroe today, January 13, 2019 at the Mindanao International Container Terminal in Misamis Oriental as it prepares to depart for South Korea by midnight tonight.
The ceremonial re-exportation was led by Congresswoman Juliette Uy, officials of Bureau of Customs, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Phividec, Ecowaste Coalition, National Bureau of Investigation and other local officials.
Shown below is M/V Kalliroe which will transport the wastes to Korea at the expense of the Korean government.
It can be recalled that both the Philippine and South Korean governments finally resolved last December to have the 6,500 tons of illegal wastes returned to South Korea. Browse photos below.
