A medical examination certificate is one of the basic requirements in applying for a driver’s license. And starting February 4, 2019, the Land Transportation Office in Region 10 located in Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City will only be accepting medical examination certificates submitted online for driver’s license applications.
This is based on Memorandum Circular No. 2018-002 (see below) prescribing the start of implementation of MC No. 2018-2157, which instructs “all LTO licensing sites to start accepting only electronically transmitted Medical Examination Certificates to the LTO IT Systems.”
Said directive also advises all physicians issuing Medical Examination Certificates for Driver’s License applications to register with the LTO at least a week before implementation date.
Accordingly, the new policy aims to address the issue of fake medical certificates. Those applying for student permits or license renewal are covered by the policy.
