Some P600,000 worth of confiscated illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnics in Cagayan de Oro City were destroyed yesterday, January 4, 2019 by the Task Force Firecrackers.

The items included 30 packs of 2000 rounds of Judas Belt or Sawa, and other assorted firecrackers and pyrotechnics in 64 boxes which were found to have no Philippine Standard (PS) mark and were seized last December 31, 2018 during inspection at Rotonda, Barangay Nazareth, and around Cogon and Puerto Public Market.

City DILG Director Jane Docallos led other task force members in destroying the firecrackers in a ceremony held in Upper Gusa which include personnel of the City Regulatory and Complaint Board, Bureau of Fire Protection, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, Explosive and Ordnance Division, City Mobile Force Company, PNP Regional Civil Security Unit-10, City Engineering Office, and City Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Department.
