Conglomerate Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. has submitted an unsolicited offer to develop and operate Laguindingan Airport in Misamis Oriental. This was disclosed by Department of Transportation (DOTr) Undersecretary Manuel Tamayo who also said the proposal was submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Laguindingan Airport serves the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan and other provinces in Northern Mindanao.

The construction of said airport was so much delayed that it was built using an old design. When it started operations in 2013, it was already at full design capacity.

It can be recalled that the conglomerate had earlier submitted a similar proposal last March 2018 but for three airports. Read our old post below.
