Bukidnon-pride and top mountaineer CARINA DAYONDON, a graduate of Xavier University in Cagayan de Oro City and formerly of XU-Ateneo Mountaineering Society (XU-AMS) has made history becoming the first Filipina to complete the Seven Summits, a rare feat in climbing the highest peaks in the world’s seven continents.

Carina achieved the feat after summiting at Vinson Massif, Antarctica’s highest peak last December 16 becoming the first Filipina and just the second Filipino to conquer the Seven Summits after Romi Garduce completed the feat in 2012. Her feat was announced by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on its Facebook page. Dayondon holds the rank of Lieutenant Junior Grade in PCG.
