The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) thru its legal officer, Kagay-anon lawyer Jail Senior Inspector Jeza Mae Sarah Sanchez, recently received a Silver Award for its Electronic Paralegal Learning Module (EPLM) during the International Project Management Association (IPMA) Global Award Gala 2018 held in Helsinki, Finland.

Sanchez was part of the team which developed the EPLM, an e-learning tool aimed at decongesting Philippine jails by providing BJMP’s paralegal officers a resource center where they can safeguard the rights of the detainees. EPLM so far has contributed to a 67% reduction of the national congestion rate in the country’s jails as of September 2018. JSI Sanchez is shown during the Helsinki event.
