The first ever police precinct in Uptown Cagayan de Oro City was finally inaugurated yesterday at Pueblo de Oro. Located right between Morning Mist and Caltex Gas Station (beside Cham’s), the new police precinct is a converted 20-foot container van remodeled into an office.
Residents in the uptown community particularly in the Pueblo de Oro and Xavier Estates-Xavier Heights areas now have a permanent police presence nearby which is long overdue as the residential population and business community in the uptown area has significantly increased in recent years.
Prior to yesterday’s inauguration, the nearest police precinct is located at Carmen proper.
Accordingly, the project is an initiative of the Council of Uptown Presidents which is composed of presidents of the different homeowner’s associations in the Uptown area.
Hopefully, this precinct will be further converted into a real building or perhaps a police station.
