Every December, Tangub City prides itself as the biggest Christmas destination in Northern Mindanao. Its Christmas Symbols Festival has grown much over the years that it is now one of the country’s tourist attractions during the yuletide season. It was even named as the Christmas Symbol Capital of the Philippines in 2007.
Last Saturday, Tangub City officially opened this year’s edition at the 2.5-hectare city plaza.
And as expected, thousands gathered the ceremonial switching on of the lights.
….followed by fireworks.
The work of art isn’t that simple. The different illuminated structures are carefully crafted to resemble famous structures around the world. Browse over several photos below and see the grandeur of the Christmas Symbols Capital of the Philippines.
