Five senior and one cadet girl scouts from the Misamis Oriental Girl Scout Council were among 713 recipients for this year’s Chief Girl Scout Medal. Senior Girl Scouts Crystal Joy D. Dandasan and Trisha Ivy J. Maandig of Liceo de Cagayan University Junior High School, Mary Marielle S. Sanchez of PN Roa National High School, Dhonna Marie L. Chan and Glaidyl Kynn Bilbar of Medina National High School and Cadet Girl Scout Angela M. Lapore of Cagayan de Oro City High School, all received their medals during the Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme Presentation Ceremony held November 23 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
The Chief Girl Scout Medal is the highest award given to a girl scout for successfully completing a one-year development project on ecology, health, livelihood, and cultural heritage that engages her community, transforms lives, and makes positive impact in our society.
It was the 42nd edition of the Chief Girl Scout Medal Scheme Presentation with girl scouts coming from all over the country receiving their medals at the PICC.
Among the highlights during the awarding ceremony was the message of actress Kathryn Bernardo who is the first ambassador of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
