Fifty-three more minors were rescued in internet cafés during class hours in Kauswagan and Macabalan as Cagayan de Oro City’s Regulatory and Complaint Board (RCB) further intensified their joint rescue operations in response to complaints and info relayed to their office.

Yesterday, November 12, fifteen (15) minors were rescued in Macabalan. The RCB was acting to this message sent by a concerned netizen thru Facebook.

In the photo below, many of those rescued are not yet teenagers.

Pornographic websites are also accessible on the said internet café.

And just this morning, thirty-eight (38) minors were rescued in Kauswagan upon the request of Brgy. Capt. Pedro Balite. They were brought to the Barangay Hall and given appropriate intervention.

City Ordinance No. 13394-2018, otherwise known as the Cagayan de Oro City Comprehensive Children’s Welfare Code of 2018 prohibits minors from playing computer or video games from 7:00AM to 3:00PM during school days, and internet café owners are prohibited from allowing children to access pornographic sites, nor be engaged in any pornographic activities through the internet.
