The City Government of Cagayan de Oro will soon develop the old dump site in Upper Dagong, Carmen into an Ecological Park.

Shown below is the perspective of the proposed roundabout and children’s playground as prepared by the City Engineer’s Office (CEO).

It can be recalled that an ECO-PARK CONCEPT DESIGN CONTEST was recently organized by City Hall wherein an entry of Liceo De Cagayan University emerged as winner. Read link below.

City Hall stressed that although Liceo’s design won, all other entries from USTP, COC-Phinma, and Xavier University will still be considered in the final design by the CEO.

The old dumpsite was closed in 2017 and a new sanitary landfill located in Brgy. Pagalungan is now being used.
