HABINI BAY, the 526-hectare master-planned estate straddling the municipalities of Alubijid and Laguindingan in Misamis Oriental held its groundbreaking ceremony today. The milestone took place hours after the project was officially launched at Seda Centrio.

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeny Vincente Emano together with Ayala Land executives led the special ceremony for Ayala’s largest estate project in the country.

Here’s a closer look of the project. You can see industrial lots north of the airport which likens the development of Mactan Export Processing Zone. A long commercial strip is along the eastern coastline stretching from the northeast tip towards the south. Along this area can be found the Punta Sulawan Lighthouse perhaps a special landmark feature.

Just south of the commercial area is the proposed Laguindingan Seaport. Note that the popular Birhen sa Moog Chapel is along this site or at the southern tip of the seaport project. The planned town center is just before the airport and is probably the site of the new municipal hall of Laguindingan. In close proximity is the residential area.

Now, this is a master-planned estate project and development could take several years. But knowing Ayala, realization of this undertaking which was first envisioned in the 1990s could happen just soon.

Keep posted for updates.
