105-year-old Dipayongan Macasimbar is currently the oldest living person in Cagayan de Oro City on record. Macasimbar led five other centenarians who were recently recognized by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) last October 30 during the culmination of the Elderly Filipino Week held at Limketkai Center.

The other centenarians are Francisco Briones (103), Damo-ao Acab (103), Tolentina Tumapon (102), Rizalina Saniel (100), and Salome Panes(100). All received P100,000 cash incentive pursuant to Republic Act 10868 or the Centenarians Act of 2016 and additional P100,000 from the city government.

Over 2,000 senior citizens attended the event.
