The City Government of Cagayan de Oro yesterday, October 30, held the official ground breaking ceremony for the P20 million Oro Golden Home for the Elderly at the Mother Theresa Oro Care Center Compound in Upper Puerto.
The new facility will provide a temporary shelter for abandoned and neglected elderly in society while undergoing rehabilitation and for possible family reintegration.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno led the groundbreaking activity together with Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy, some city councilors, Dr. Fe Juarez (daughter of the late Madame Laureana and Engr. Sesenio Rosales who donated property on which the center would soon rise), city hall department heads and other stakeholders.
A perspective of the project can be seen on the stage.
