Justin Brownlee sizzled all night with 34 points as the Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings survived Phoenix Fuel Masters, 101-99, at the packed Xavier University Gym in Cagayan de Oro City.

Phoenix had a chance to send the game into overtime but Matthew Wright lost the ball on a drive in the dying seconds as the Gin Kings notched their 5th win against a single loss to move on top of the standings in the 2018 PBA Governor’s Cup. The Fuel Masters meanwhile dropped to 4-2.

Ginebra won despite missing the services of 5 key players as shown below (from left) Greg Slaughter, Julian Sargent, Jervy Cruz, Japeth Aguilar and Art dela Cruz Jr.

Scottie Thompson was named best player of the game with 12 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists.
