Contrary to some recent media reports, Nestlé Philippines Inc. is ‘HERE TO STAY’ and is not planning to close any of its manufacturing facilities in the Philippines. Its Cagayan de Oro City factory which is the only one outside Luzon is the hub of NESCAFÉ production in the country and the Export Center for BEAR BRAND filled milk powder.
In a media statement posted on its website and in its official Facebook page, Nestlé refuted the news as reported which cited the TRAIN law and supply concern as among major factors in the planned shutdown. The statement reads as follows:
“Nestlé Philippines is not planning to close any of its manufacturing facilities in the Philippines. Coffee under our NESCAFÉ brand remains to be a core pillar for us, and we are committed to support the local coffee industry and our coffee farmers to growth.
We have been operating in the Philippines for 107 years now, and we look forward to doing business here in the next 100 years. Nestlé is here to stay.”
