Cagayan de Oro City today, was recognized as a recipient of the Seal of Good Education Governance given by Synergeia Foundation, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and PLDT/Smart during the 12th Washington Sycip National Education Summit held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City. It was the second straight year for the city to receive the award.

The seal is awarded to a local government that effectively organizes all systems and processes in the delivery of basic education, making the dreams of the Filipino children come true. Read the citation below.
As a seal recipient, Cagayan de Oro City got an incentive from PLDT/Smart telecommunication company which is P1.5 million worth of communication packages, including P100,000 worth of oil from Sea Oil; playground equipment from SGV; and books from Jesse Robredo Foundation.
Meanwhile Mayor Moreno was also a panelist in one of the sessions of the summit.
