The City Government of Cagayan de Oro today formally turned over the newly completed 100-bed capacity dormitory of the drug treatment and rehabilitation center in Maitum, Upper Puerto to the Department of Health’s Treatment and Rehabilitation Center. The building is named after Madame Gloria Laureana S. Rosales whose family donated the property on which the facility stands.
In his speech, City Mayor Oscar Moreno expressed eternal gratitude to the Rosales espouses (Engr. Sisenio & Madame Laureana), represented by their daughter, Dr. Fe R. Juarez, for donating 10 hectares of their property to the city government in the 1990s during the administration of the late City Mayor Pablo Magtajas.
The Rosales family owns Capitol University (formerly Cagayan Capitol College) which donated the lot. Read a short history of the center below.
