On a sad news, Cagayan de Oro pride and table tennis Olympian Ian Lariba has passed away Sunday night after losing her battle with cancer. She was 23.

Lariba made history after becoming the first Filipino table tennis player to qualify for the Olympics. She was the country’s flag-bearer during the 2016 Rio Olympics.


Lariba studied at Corpus Christi High School in Cagayan de Oro before she became a varsity player for De La Salle University.
