The town of Balingasag is the Most Competitive Municipality in Northern Mindanao for 2018 ranking 26th overall in the country based on the 2018 annual rankings of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council.
Balingasag zoomed from 7th place last year to dislodge Manolo Fortich town in Bukidnon who slid to No. 2 in the region ranking 32nd overall. Manolo Fortich has been the region’s No. 1 in competitiveness in four of the six years since the rankings were first made in 2013. It was no. 1 in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Maramag town in Bukidnon was tops in 2015. Here’s the Top 10 overall in all municipalities in the region.
Meanwhile, in the rankings among all 1st to 2nd class municipalities, Manolo Fortich is still number 1 after ranking 19th overall in the country with Balingasag following close at 37th. Here’s the rest of the Top 10.
Among 3rd to 6th Class Municipalities, Medina in Misamis Oriental ranked 28th nationwide to emerge as the most competitive. Bacolod town in Lanao del Norte was 37th good for second place in the region.
