In case you haven’t noticed it yet, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started replacing the old road markers in Cagayan de Oro City with new ones.

This one below is at Divisoria right across Grand City Hotel. In 2014, we posted about the meaning of ‘K’, ‘1439’, ‘CDO’ and ‘2’ as well as ‘T’ and ’35’ on the other side. Based on netizens’ comments at that time, our post was very informative and they soon realized the meaning of these markers.

Well, just to reiterate the info, K stands for Kilometer, 1439 means that spot is 1,439 kilometers from Rizal Park in Luneta which is K 0 (zero). CDO 2 means the spot is 2 kilometers from CDO 0 (zero) which is located along CM Recto at USTP near the overpass. T stands for Talakag (the next town following the National Highway), and 35 means Talakag is 35 kilometers from that spot. These are guide for motorists on distances to the next town or city. The new marker still needs to be painted for easy recognition.

Here’s a photo taken a day earlier showing the old marker.
