Malasag in Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City is the most accessible forested area in the city. An 800-hectare major reforestation project of the government as part of the Cugman Watershed, it hosts the 7.2-hectare Gardens of Malasag Eco-Tourism Village which is managed by the Philippine Tourism Authority (PTA).
The eco-tourism resort is one of the most visited sites in the city showcasing the rich heritage of Northern Mindanao through a tribal village with artifacts, crafts, customs and traditions. It also has villas and cottages for overnight accommodation, a pool, camping ground, picnic areas, a butterfly garden, a mini zoo, a hanging bridge and a large botanical garden. It’s also a must visit place with a panoramic view of Macajalar Bay just 20 minutes from the city proper.
