The province of Misamis Oriental has recorded 1,498,581 tourists during the second quarter of this year. This was reported by Provincial Tourism Officer Atty. Jeffrey Saclot during during a recent departmental press briefing. The figure almost tripled the 500,000 tourists for the January to March period.

In the said report, the province’s tourism sites earned P19,324,157 during the period which includes entrance fees, hotel and cottage bookings. This doesn’t even include earnings by tour guides, habal-habal drivers, small sari-sari stores and pasalubong centers, among others.

Sagpulon Falls and Agutayan White Island both located in Jasaan are among the top destinations.

Accordingly, the positive outcome is a result of the capitol’s active promotion of tourism.
