A new 6-lane 15-meter bridge with 18-meter clear roadway will soon be constructed over Bitan-ag Creek along the Coastal Road Access Road to Agora Market in Cagayan de Oro City.
As shown in the map below, the short bridge will be built over the section of Bitan-ag Creek just north of Agora Market.
Here’s the map as posted onsite.
Accordingly, the P60 million bridge project is another component of the drainage rehabilitation and improvement project in the area which also includes another bridge (Gaabucayan Bridge) to be built also over Bitan-ag Creek along Gaabucayan Street but this is yet to be funded. A 3rd bridge at Limketkai Center is also in the pipeline.
Based on the project description, the bridge will replace the existing triple barrel drainage and will be built in accordance to the planned creek widening project.
Cagayan de Oro City 2nd Dist. Rep. Maxie Rodriguez and local officials of Brgy. Puntod attended yesterday’s ground breaking ceremony.
Initial information also revealed because this will be a 6-lane roadway, this wall will be demolished.
Again, road-right-of-way negotiations is a vital part of the project so construction can commence.
