All sixty-three (63) passengers and crew of Super Shuttle Ferry 1, a roll-on roll-off (RoRo) passenger vessel serving the Camiguin-Balingoan route, were rescued by responding fishermen after it was swept by strong winds and huge waves yesterday afternoon, July 16 as it was approaching Lapinig Islet near Balingoan Port in Misamis Oriental.

News reports state that another roro vessel tried to pull the ferry but the cables broke. This is when local fishermen decided to conduct the rescue operation. Photos below showed passengers wearing their life vests before the rescue.
