Three thresher sharks were killed in separate incidents off Gingoog City and Manticao in Misamis Oriental over the weekend.

Two were killed in the coastal waters in Gingoog City as shown below. You can see a large wound on one of the sharks.

Meanwhile, another thresher shark was killed off Manticao town. Thresher sharks are known for their large eyes and scythe-like long tail fins.

Although thresher sharks are excellent hunters, they are not a threat to humans. Further, they are scared of humans and will even swim away the moment they see a diver. (SOURCE)
