A section of the Solana River in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental is being pushed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR-10) to be declared as a protected habitat for the Philippine sailfin lizard (Hydrosaurus pustulatus) or locally known as Ibid, which is a threatened species.

According to the DENR, the Philippine sailfin lizard is listed as a threatened species. It is also endemic to the Philippines and is categorized under “other threatened species” based on Department Administrative Order No. 2004-15 of Republic Act  9147  (Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act).
