Construction of the multi-million Agora Subterranean Canal project is now nearing the CM Recto Junction near Puregold.
As shown below, the drainage work along Valenzuela Avenue (Agora Road) has now reached the former Shell Gas Station which is currently being demolished.
The concrete pavement has been removed and excavation works will follow.
The large drainage project is aimed at diverting a portion of the volume of flow at Bitan-ag Creek at Limketkai Center.
Initial plans indicate the subterranean canal will pass under Puregold and will connect to Bitan-ag Creek at the back of PNB Limketkai.
The subterranean canal project has two conduits large enough to fit two vehicles.
Ongoing installation of sheet piles was observed onsite.
Concreting works of the canals are also ongoing.
It has also been observed that construction work is slow.
It can be recalled that we last posted an update almost a year ago (May 25, 2017) and observed drainage works has just passed Market City. See link below.
Because of the drainage project, traffic in the area is heavy particularly during rush hours.
There’s also an ongoing road rehabilitation project on the same road.
